Welcome to Customized Fitness, a company dedicated to the advancement of wellness. Lynn DeLancey and her daughters, Gena and Marisa, are all certified instructors who have been collectively teaching for over 50 years. A true fitness family.

​

Customized Fitness sees each client’s unique needs, abilities and potential.  We don’t believe everyone should train the same way.  Our style is to carefully customize workouts and create individualized plans to make each and every session an opportunity to feel better physically and mentally.

INSTRUCTORS

Lynn DeLancey

Owner & Certified Instructor

Lynn’s love of fitness started in her early 20’s when she began taking yoga classes shortly after the birth of her daughters. She started working as a group fitness instructor in 1978 and her passion for fitness turned into a lifelong career when Lynn became the Fitness Director of the YM-YWHA of Bergen County.

As fitness evolved, Lynn realized that people progressed best when exercise programs were designed for their individual needs.  Her clients were thrilled with the progress they were making and developed a newfound commitment to their fitness. As a result, Lynn completed her AAFA certification as a personal trainer in 1990 and soon established Customized Fitness. After being introduced to Pilates, Lynn immediately saw it as a wonderful addition to the customized concept and completed her full Pilates apparatus certification at the Kane School in Manhattan in 2002.

In 2010 she acquired her TRX certification to further enhance the core and strength components of a client’s workout. After seeing many clients with bone density issues, Lynn certified with Buff Bones in 2015, adding osteoporosis targeted training to her list of offerings.

​

Lynn is the mother of two daughters and a grandmother to four grandchildren. In her mid-seventies, Lynn practices what she preaches and is still committed to training. In her downtime, she loves taking classes on her Peloton, strength training, Pilates and walking.

Gena Panno

Certified Instructor

Gena’s fitness journey began in her early 20’s when she discovered her love for running. She had struggled with her weight for many years and the more she learned about fitness, the more she wanted to share her knowledge with others. Shortly after earning her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, she decided to pursue her new passion for fitness.  Gena became a certified personal trainer in 1996 through AFAA (Aerobics Fitness Association of America). She earned her Pilates Mat and Apparatus certifications in the early 2000’s through PowerHouse Pilates. She also holds senior fitness, TRX and Tabata Bootcamp certifications as well.

  

Gena loves the challenge of working with a variety of the population and has trained many mothers through their pregnancies, pre and post-partum. She has trained athletes, from runners to skiers to golfers. She especially loves her seniors, and is continually blown away by the “new face” of the senior population.

 

When she’s not working or working out Gena can be found spending time with her daughters or her other great love, food! She loves cooking, especially transforming traditionally “unhealthy” and high calorie dishes into much healthier, lighter and delicious versions. She is always happy to share tips for dietary lifestyle changes and to share some recipes with her clients as well.

Marisa Huber

Certified Instructor

After earning her MBA and spending 12 years in the marketing field, Marisa decided to follow her lifelong passion for fitness. It was a natural evolution since she grew up with exercise being such an important part of her life. She loves the connection she creates with her clients and watching their transformation!

 

Marisa is a certified personal trainer through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She also has her Mat Pilates and Apparatus certifications through PowerHouse Pilates. She is an expert in HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and TRX training. She loves creating challenging, customized workouts for each of her clients individual needs.

 

When she is not working, she loves spending time with her family and can often be found on a baseball field watching her sons play ball!
